Synopsis

The title is “Nefertari Cobra’s Demise.”

Someone shouldn’t be sitting there. It is not allowed for someone’s whims to move the world! cough cough Who are you? King Cobra asks the person sitting on the “vacant throne” while coughing. He demands to know who they are! Im-sama, sitting on the “vacant throne,” says there are two things they want to discuss with Cobra… and one thing they want to know. Cobra responds.

Cobra knows the name “Im.” If we talk about the first 20 people by chance… don’t pry, I won’t give you an answer… but I will tell you what you want to know. “D” is the name of the enemies we once opposed. The “D” that has emerged in various places in recent years are just empty shells who don’t even know the meaning of their own names…

However, that is also due to the great blunder of Queen Lily 800 years ago. The scholars who investigate the blank 100 years are the same. The pirates who seek the Poneglyphs for the sake of treasure are also the same. If it weren’t for Queen Lily’s mistake that day, the detestable Poneglyphs wouldn’t have scattered all over the world!

In this unfortunate past, there is one worst-case scenario. Was the release of the Poneglyphs really a mistake… or was it planned…? When Im-sama says that, Cobra is simply amazed. And the Five Elders begin to prepare their weapons.

The answer should be in Lily’s letter that reached Alabasta. Why do you only refer to her as “Queen Nefertari”? Why is that? Say the name of the “sender” of the letter left by the queen.

Cobra, with resignation, decides that he probably won’t be able to leave this room alive anymore. If I lie… can I escape? Cobra asks, but as soon as he sees Im-sama, he realizes that his fate has already been decided. The Five Elders raise their guns and respond. Perhaps… it is the world’s greatest taboo…

Scene shifts to Sabo, who is hiding behind a wall and listening to the conversation. What is this situation? Clearly abnormal. Cobra continues speaking. It was written like this 800 years ago. The name of the queen who ruled the Alabasta Kingdom… Nefertari… “D” Lily. As soon as he answers, the gaze of Im-sama changes, and with something like a black arrow of darkness, Im-sama attacks Cobra, piercing his body.

Sabo immediately jumps out to help Cobra and attacks all the Five Elders with his “Hiken” (Fire Fist). He then unleashes an attack called “Oute Hisha” (Checkmate Rook), but even Im-sama is seen devouring the flames in the background. “Where did Im-sama come from…?!” Sabo exclaims in anger.

Surrounded by the shadows of the Five Elders, Sabo (or the Five Elders?) thinks that it would have been great to take them all out here, but they never expected that there would be hell at the top of the world. Sabo stands before Cobra. Click

“Goho Goho, are you Luffy’s brother? Even though you’re part of the Revolutionary Army… Will you help us?” Cobra asked Sabo. “Our enemies are the kings and those above them,” he continued. “Why do you know Luffy?” Sabo inquired, to which Cobra replied that Luffy is his benefactor. Sabo seemed delighted, saying, “Hahaha, just like Luffy!”

Five shadows and one large shadow attacked Sabo and Cobra. Sabo carried Cobra and tried to escape. “You can make it on your own! Leave me behind, I won’t be saved,” Cobra said. But Sabo insisted, “I will save you!” Then Cobra revealed something he had understood, “I don’t want you to be weakened here. Please convey this to Luffy and Vivi!”

“Luffy and Princess Vivi!? ‘We are also ‘D’!!’ Finally, the path for Alabasta became clear,” Cobra said. The scene shifted to Sabo’s flashback. It showed Sabo, Ace, and Luffy as children. Sabo remarked, “Is it just a coincidence? Both of you have the ‘D’ in your names. Well, I guess I don’t care about names! Shall we call ourselves ‘D,’ Sabo?” Luffy and Ace appeared excited about the idea.

Returning to the present, an arrow-shaped shadow attacked Sabo and Cobra. They were struck by the black arrow, and Sabo accidentally dropped Cobra. Cobra told him to protect the Poneglyph, raise the flag of dawn in the world, and mentioned Nefertari “D.” He asked Sabo to fulfill his request. Then, standing in front of Sabo, Cobra was hit by the shadows and succumbed.

Wapol, who happened to witness the event, exclaimed, “That guy Cobra got himself killed! I hate him, but I’m not happy about this. I witnessed something unbelievable—the darkness of the World Government. I didn’t want to know about it. Who the hell was that? My life is ruined!” Crying, Wapol ran away.

The scene shifted to the Round Table Conference Room. It seemed that Cobra and Wapol were still absent. They received a message requesting both of them to be excused, so the meeting proceeded without them. It appeared that Cobra, exhausted from his passionate speech, was satisfied with the approval of the Warlords.

Let’s wrap up the remaining agenda. Now, let’s address the issue of the North Blue Four Nations’ independence,” the conversation continued. The Reverie Conference eventually concluded. The Red Port, devoid of Celestial Dragons, became the meeting place. The starry brother called out to Shiraoshi, saying they should wait there. Shiraoshi wondered where Vivi had gone.

The scene shifted to a guest room inside Pangaea Castle. Vivi was tied to a chair. She demanded to know why she was captured and demanded to be released. “Whose orders are these? I’ll expose everything to the world—what happened here!” Vivi was imprisoned by Cipher Pol Zero.

Jabra and Kalifa remarked, “Well, well, you’re quite honest. But do you think we’ll let you escape? You’re a determined woman! Most likely, you won’t be saved, Princess. You’ll be treated as ‘missing’ and end up being owned by someone.”

Is Shiraoshi safe? Are you worried about other people in this situation? Well, to cut to the chase, she’s safe. The guys who beat up the Celestial Dragons trying to kidnap the Mermaid Princess proudly declared themselves as Straw Hat Luffy’s subordinates! The plaza is in an uproar.

In the divine land, the Revolutionary Army, which assists in freeing slaves, got into a huge fight with Green Bull due to Fujitora’s actions… This “World Conference” is really messed up, Jabura says.

We need to do something about it. Am I going to be owned too? No joking around! Vivi thinks about how to escape. Just then, Wapol bursts through the wall and shouts, “Help me out! I didn’t see anything!” While breaking the wall, Wapol escapes, telling everyone to make way.

Vivi notices Wapol and clings to him. She successfully escapes with Wapol as they run away together. The CP0 members are left puzzled, wondering, “What just happened? Isn’t that Wapol, the king…? Wait, Vivi is not here!” Finally, they realize.

How far are you going, Wapol? As far as possible! To the ends of the world where no one can catch me! Vivi says, “Take me with you!”

This concludes this week’s episode. The end.

Impressions

The story of ONE PIECE keeps progressing rapidly. Im-sama spoke a lot, and it seems that the mysteries surrounding the “D” will be revealed. It’s amazing how the foreshadowing scattered throughout ONE PIECE is connecting in various ways. To be honest, I wasn’t very interested in Im-sama, but if they can fight as a capable person, it changes things.

The Five Elders and Im-sama attacked like shadows, and I wonder what kind of power they have. It seems stronger than Moria’s Kage Kage, and I’m not sure if they’re shadows or darkness, but it gave me the impression of something similar to the Pride in Fullmetal Alchemist.

“Wu Lao Xing (The Five Elder Stars) also turned into shadows, so is it the ability of Im-sama? Or is it the individual abilities of each of the Five Elder Stars? Sabo was also pierced by the arrows of shadows and suffered damage, so could it be an attack infused with Haki that can affect Logia users? Or perhaps it nullifies Devil Fruit powers like Blackbeard’s darkness? In any case, Im-sama seems formidable.

Blackbeard, also known as Marshall D. Teach, has the initial “D” as well. Could it be possible that they will eventually team up and fight against Im-sama? Since they refer to “D” as the enemies of the Celestial Dragons. In that case, the previous generation also included Rocks D. Xebec and Gol D. Roger…?

As far as we know, the known members of the “D” clan are:

  • Monkey
  • Goal
  • Portgas
  • Trafalgar
  • Marshal
  • Jaguar
  • Rocks
  • Nefertari

Hmm… I don’t have any particular insight right now.

Nefertari D. Vivi didn’t surprise me much since I still don’t understand the meaning of “D,” but the fact that the Nefertari family didn’t become Celestial Dragons and continued as rulers might become a key point in the future. “D” being the enemies of the Celestial Dragons… It will surely become important.

Vivi is currently being sheltered by the Morgans’ newspaper company, but she can’t bear the burden of the country alone, and with Cobra’s passing, it seems she will end up fighting against the World Government. In that case, it would be good for her to be with the Revolutionary Army, but I would be happy if she could join Luffy’s crew and fight against the World Government.

It would be touching if they could bring back that beloved scene. Even now, watching that scene in the anime almost brings me to tears…

Also, I feel relieved that CP0 is playing a role of defecting properly. Since the days of CP9, they have always been more focused on the arrogance of the strong rather than their dignified presence. It feels just right for those who were once defeated to be like this. Chapapa. Good job.

This week’s chapter didn’t have the same excitement as when Garp and Shanks fought, but it was interesting to see the story progress.

Thank you for reading until the end.

ONE PIECE and Jujutsu Kaisen are published in the same week, so I will try to post the articles as soon as possible.
